ALBUQUERQUE --- North Carolina will look to advance to the regional semifinals for the 15th time in program history Monday when the fifth-seeded Tar Heels face fourth-seeded Kentucky at The Pit on the campus of the University of New Mexico at 9:45 p.m. ET. Carolina is 27-8 on the year after an 82-68 win over Fresno State in the first round Saturday. Kentucky, an at-large selection from the Southeastern Conference, is 25-8 on the season following a 66-62 overtime win over Hampton in the first round. UNC is ranked No. 14 in the AP poll and No. 14 in the coaches' poll. Kentucky is ranked No. 17 in the AP poll and No. 16 in the coaches' poll.

KENTUCKY SERIES NOTES
North Carolina is 4-0 all-time against Kentucky, with the last meeting coming in Lexington in 2003.
UNC and Kentucky have never met in the postseason.
CAROLINA IN THE NCAA TOURNAMENT
UNC enters the tournament as a No. 5 seed for the second time in school history and the first since 2000. That year the Tar Heels defeated Maine and Rice before falling to Georgia in the regional semifinal.
Following Saturday's win, Carolina is 16-4 all-time in NCAA first round games.
Carolina is 13-5 all-time in the second round of the NCAA Tournament with its last loss coming to Purdue in 2009.
The Tar Heels are 22-20 all-time in NCAA Tournament games played away from Chapel Hill.
