CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The North Carolina Tar Heels are preseason ranked #5 by Face-Off Yearbook as the 2013 season approaches in February. Coach Joe Breschi's team returns a veteran core of players coming off an 11-6 season, NCAA Tournament bid and ACC Tournament finalist position.

Loyola's opponent in the 2012 title game, Maryland, comes in at No. 2 in the Face-Off Yearbook rankings, followed by Notre Dame, Duke and North Carolina.
