EAST CAROLINA SERIES NOTES
• North Carolina is 17-9 all-time against East Carolina.
• UNC defeated ECU 65-61 last season at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.
• The Tar Heels and Pirates were familiar opponents in the early days of women's basketball, playing 21 times in the first eight years of Carolina's existence as a varsity program.
• The two Old North State rivals have met just three times since 1994, however. Prior to last year's meeting, the last game in the series came in 1999, a 66-49 Tar Heel victory in Chapel Hill.
CAROLINA AT THE BEACH
• Carolina has played at least one game in the Myrtle Beach area every year since 1994.
• The Tar Heels have an all-time record of 25-5 in the Myrtle Beach area that includes at least one win in each of the last 11 seasons.
• UNC split a pair of games at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center last season, falling to South Carolina, 79-48, before defeating East Carolina, 65-61.
