North Carolina will travel to Maryland Sunday to take on the Terrapins and the Bowling Green Falcons in a tri-meet. The Tar Heels are 6-0 this season and look to win after losing to the Terps last year.
Seniors Morgan Evans and Zoya Johnson and junior Elizabeth Durkac will lead the Heels in the first of two meets against Maryland in the same week. Evans continues to lead the team in all-around scores and is tied for first in the nation on uneven bars, with an average score of 9.900. Johnson and Durkac have tied or broken several personal bests on individual events in both meets this season.
Evans says the Heels have already met one of their season goals, "to be the most cohesive team in Carolina history."
UNC's totals on individual events and all around continue to improve. The Heels' scores on uneven bars increased by over a point and the vault, floor exercise, and overall totals have each increased by about a half of a point.
On the improved scores, Durkac says, "everyone is giving it their all on every routine."
The meet will be streamed live starting at 2:00 on Maryland's athletics page, http://www.umterps.com
