UNC To Kick Off Season At Tiger Classic

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - North Carolina is set to open the 2013 season this weekend at LSU's Tiger Classic Tournament in Baton Rouge, La.
The Tar Heels will face Tulsa in their opening game on Friday, Feb. 8, and will also play Purdue, Hampton and host LSU throughout the weekend. LSU avanced to the 2012 College World Series and was ranked No. 10 in the USA Today/NFCA preseason poll. Tulsa also received votes in the preseason rankings.

North Carolina was voted the favorite to win the 2013 ACC softball regular season, as voted on by the league's eight head coaches. UNC was also tabbed No. 21 in the ESPN/ASA preseason poll and No. 22 in the USA Today/NFCA preseason rankings.
