Tyler Zeller's offensive efficiency
Through the first couple of weeks in the 2014 NBA season, Tyler Zeller has been rated as the most efficient offensive player in the league. We wrote last week about how Zeller has been effective running the pick and roll with Rajon Rondo, so it's great to see statistics backing up Zeller's strong play. Chris Forsberg of ESPNBoston.com has a more in-depth breakdown of Zeller's play.
Ellington, Davis help Lakers to first win
Earlier last week, Los Angeles Lakers guard Wayne Ellington predicted that the team would get its first win of the season Sunday against the Charlotte Hornets. Ellington's prediction ended up coming true, as the Lakers took down the Hornets 107-92. In the win, Ellington had nine points and five rebounds and Ed Davis had 10 points on 5-for-5 shooting from the floor along with five rebounds. On the other side for the Hornets, Marvin Williams scored 11 points and P.J. Hairston also made a highlight play on a put back off a missed jump shot. Check out this monstrous dunk that Davis had over Hornets big man Jason Maxiell.
Checking in on Ty Lawson
Ty Lawson of the Denver Nuggets is one of the best point guards in the NBA even as he doesn't get as much attention as other big-name players like Chris Paul and Steph Curry. Lawson and the Nuggets are off to a slow start this season, however, and head coach Brian Shaw is counting on Lawson to spark the team's turnaround.
Kendall Marshall cracks starting lineup
Milwaukee Bucks point guard Kendall Marshall hasn't seen the court much this season, but over the weekend, head coach Jason Kidd made the decision to insert Marshall into the starting lineup.
Marshall played 21 minutes and scored three points and had three assists in the team's loss to the Detroit Pistons.
