Tar Heels Ranked No. 23 In AP Preseason Poll

CHAPEL HILL - North Carolina's football team is ranked No. 23 in the 2014 Associated Press preseason Top 25 poll, released Sunday afternoon. It is the first time the Tar Heels have been ranked in the preseason poll since 2010.
In 2010, Carolina opened the year ranked 18th in both the AP and USA Today Coaches Poll before falling to LSU in the Chick-fil-A Classic in the season opener.
Carolina is one of three teams in the ACC ranked in the Top 25, including No. 1 Florida State and No. 16 Clemson. The Tar Heels face the Tigers Sept. 27 in Clemson.
