For the tenth straight year, Roy Williams will open the basketball season with his Fast Break Against Cancer breakfast on the floor of the Smith Center.

Sylvia Hatchell is the headline speaker at this year's event, which has raised almost $1.6 million for cancer research, prevention and outreach. Hatchell, the Tar Heel women's basketball coach, will share her journey, diagnosis, treatment and recovery.

One of the highlights of the breakfast is a live auction, hosted by event emcee Woody Durham, that features one-of-a-kind items only available at Fast Break. Past auctions have even included a spot on the Carolina bench for a game and access to the UNC basketball locker room.

This year's Fast Break Against Cancer begins at 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 3. Individual tickets are $100, and table sponsorships are also available. Tickets and more information are available online.
