Hatchell To Headline Fast Break Against Cancer

CHAPEL HILL—University of North Carolina women's basketball head coach and cancer survivor Sylvia Hatchell will serve as the headline speaker at the 10th annual Fast Break Against Cancer with Carolina men's basketball coach Roy Williams on Friday, October 3, 2014.
Almost exactly a year since her leukemia diagnosis in October 2013, Hatchell will reflect and share with the crowd her journey through diagnosis, treatment and recovery.
Williams, his assistant coaches, and former Tar Heel broadcaster Woody Durham will tipoff the 2014-15 men's basketball season at this seated breakfast and one-of-a-kind live auction event in the Dean E. Smith Center.
The annual event, presented by Atlantic Packaging, is sponsored by UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center with proceeds from the event supporting cancer research, prevention and treatment. To date, the event has raised almost $1.6 million for the cancer center.
