Tar Heel Golfers Kick Off Season At Carpet Capital

Carolina kicks off its fall season at the Carpet Capital Collegiate. Play begins Friday and continues through Sunday. The Tar Heels will begin teeing off at 11:05 Friday morning. The three-day, 54-hole event will feature a 14-team field and play will take place at The Farm Golf Club, a par 72, 7,012-yard layout. Live scoring is available on GoHeels.com. Tar Heel senior Bailey Patrick tied for individual medalist honors at last year's Carpet Capital with a 9-under-par 207 total after firing rounds of 68-69-70. Carolina tied for fifth place in the individual event with an 874 total. This year's prestigious events features six teams in Golfweek's top 30 team including top-ranked Alabama, #2 Georgia Tech, #11 LSU, #20 South Carolina, #22 Auburn and #28 Clemson.
