Louisville Gametime Announced
January 21, 2015 | Men's Basketball
CHAPEL HILL—The January 31st game between North Carolina and Louisville at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville will begin at 4 p.m., the Atlantic Coast Conference and ESPN announced on Wednesday. The start time had been listed as either 4 or 7 p.m. ESPN's Dave O'Brien, Dick Vitale and Doris Burke will have the call for the contest in Louisville.
The game will be the first half of a big ACC doubleheader on ESPN on the 31st. ESPN's College GameDay, the Saturday morning and evening roadshow, will make its first-ever stop in Charlottesville, Va., on Jan. 31 for the 7 p.m. matchup between Duke and Virginia. No school in the nation has been part of more ESPN GameDay broadcasts than Carolina's 11.
The UNC-Louisville game will be a rematch of a thriller earlier this month in Chapel Hill. On January 10, Carolina beat fifth-ranked Louisville, 72-71, when Marcus Paige hit a driving layup with 8.5 seconds to play and the Cardinals missed two last-second tries for the win.
The Tar Heels will be playing on the road at Louisville for just the third time in the 13-game series between the schools. The Cardinals beat UNC in Louisville in the 1928-29 and 1999-2000 seasons.
