Pinson Out With Broken Bone In Foot
January 23, 2015 | Men's Basketball
Pinson, a small forward/guard from Greensboro, N.C., suffered the injury to his left foot in the first half of UNC's win at Wake Forest on January 21st. Pinson was setting a screen when a player inadvertently stepped on Pinson's right foot. The injury occurred to his left foot as he spun away from the play.
Pinson was averaging 3.3 points and 3.7 rebounds per game and had a team-best assist-error ratio with 36 assists and only 16 turnovers. He scored a season-high seven points against Davidson and Notre Dame.
Pinson is one of five Tar Heels who will not dress out against Florida State tomorrow. Point guard Joel Berry II (strained groin), point guard Stilman White (stress reaction in right foot), point guard Luke Davis (fracture in right foot), forward Sasha Seymore (ACL) and Pinson will not play due to injury.
Sophomore point guard Nate Britt is also questionable for tomorrow's game. Britt suffered a lacerated lip in the final minutes of the game at Wake Forest and received 15 stitches. Britt was not scheduled to practice on Friday.
