UNC Moves To No. 1 In Women's Tennis Rankings

The Tar Heels' dominant performance at the tournament granted them a boost from No. 3 to No. 1. North Carolina won all four of its matches by 4-1 scores or better and boosted its perfect record this season to 9-0.
Carolina was last ranked No. 1 in 2013 after winning the program's first national indoor championship. The Tar Heels would maintain its top ranking for over two months during the 2012-13 campaign.
The ITA also released its latest singles and doubles rankings on Tuesday. Sophomore Jamie Loeb is ranked No. 5 to lead six ranked UNC singles players. Sophomore Hayley Carter checks in 18th, followed by senior Caroline Price at 21st, juniors Whitney Kay and Ashley Dai at 53rd and 66th, respectively, and freshman Cassandra Vazquez at No. 95.
In doubles, Kay and Carter check in at No. 19, Loeb and Price are No. 20 and Dai and Kate Vialle check in 23rd among the 60-ranked tandems.
