Walker Named Finalist For Naismith Award

Walker is among 10 players selected to the semifinal list, which will be followed-up by the finalists announcements on Feb. 24, 2015. The Player of the Year winner will be announced on Friday, March 6.
Walker, a 5-10 guard from Orlando, is a consensus top 20 prospect in her class. She was voted Florida Class 4A Player of the Year on Tuesday. A team captain at Lake Highland Prep School since her freshman year, Walker is averaging 24.7 points, 8.2 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 4.3 steals per game as a senior.
She poured in 50 points in an 84-45 win over Lake Howell on Jan. 10, where Walker made 17 of 30 shots. MaxPreps.com ranked Walker the No. 2 shooting guard in the country.
Walker was also the 2014 Florida Class 4A Player of the Year after averaging 25 points and six rebounds as a junior.
She won a gold medal with Team USA at the FIBA Americas U18 Championship in Colorado Springs, Colo., where she averaged 8.8 points while making 49 percent of her shots.
