Tar Heels Open At Home Wednesday Against Western Carolina

After a strong opening weekend at the Kajikawa Classic in Tempe, Ariz, the Tar Heels return to action Wednesday against the Western Carolina Catamounts at 4 p.m. for their 2015 home opener at Anderson Stadium.
Coach Donna J. Papa's squad comes into the contest with a record of 3-2, with wins over Stanford, Nevada, and Bradley. They fell in hard fought meetings with Northwestern and No. 2 Oregon.
Amber Parrish blasted two grand slams and added a two run homer to come away from the weekend with 10 RBIs. Aquilla Mateen had a team leading six hits and Lauren Walker posted five hits and three RBIs.

Scouting Western Carolina
Wednesday's contest will be the first of the season for the Catamounts and the first ever meeting between these two schools. Western Carolina returns eight starters in the field and three pitchers from last year's team that went 19-34 overall and 8-13 in Southern Conference play.
