Sankey Shares ACC Player of the Week Award

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – North Carolina's Joey Sankey and Notre Dame's Conor Doyle share Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week honors, while Fighting Irish teammate Shane Doss is this week's ACC Defensive Player of the Week.
Sankey totaled five points on four goals and an assist in North Carolina's 10-6 win at No. 6 Virginia. The senior attackman's first goal gave the Tar Heels a 3-2 lead early in the second quarter, before scoring three of North Carolina's final four goals en route to the victory. Sankey has scored at least three goals in each of the Tar Heels' ACC games this season.
League play continues on this weekend with No. 4 North Carolina hosting No. 2 Syracuse on Saturday, April 11 at 4 p.m., and No. 6 Virginia playing at No. 7 Duke on Sunday, April 12 at Noon. Both games will air on ESPNU/WatchESPN app. The ACC Men's Lacrosse Championship will be played at PPL Park in Philadelphia April 24 and 26, with the top four finishers from the regular season competing in the tournament. The fifth-place team that does not qualify for the Championship will play Penn on Saturday, April 25 at PPL Park. Single game and all-session tickets are on sale now. Click here to purchase tickets.
