Carter Named ACC Co-Player Of The Week

Carter earned Co-Female Player of the Week honors after winning both the singles and doubles titles at the Freeman Memorial Tennis Championship in Las Vegas. The junior and sixth-ranked singles player in the country did not drop a set on her way to winning the singles crown, while her win over No. 49 Giuliana Olmos of Southern California was her 100th career singles victory.
Carter and doubles partner Whitney Kay, the No. 2 team nationally, took the doubles title with a 6-3 win over fourth-ranked Olmos and Gabby Smith.
Dair was named Co-Female Player of the Week for her performance against No. 7 Virginia. The sophomore won her singles match 6-4, 6-1, defeating three-time All-American and eighth-ranked Julia Elbaba in the No. 2 spot. She also helped the Eagles claim the doubles point, partnering with Jenny Ren to win 9-7 in the No. 2 position and give Boston College a 2-1 advantage.
North Carolina hosts the ITA Kick-Off Weekend this Friday and Saturday. Tulsa and Marshall begin the first of four matches on Friday at 10 a.m., followed by UNC vs. Yale at 1:30 p.m.
The two winning teams will face off at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, followed by the consolation match at 6:30 p.m.
