Andrzejewski Earns NSCAA All-America Honors

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – North Carolina freshman forward Bridgette Andrzejewski was named to the 2016 NCAA Division I Third-Team All-America team on Friday by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
Andrzejewski is the only Tar Heel named to one of the three All-America teams. She was also named ACC Freshman Of the Year prior to the ACC Tournament.
Andrzekewski led the Tar Heels with nine goals on the year, the most goals by a freshman in the ACC. She scored all of her goals in five games, scoring twice against Florida Atlantic, Virginia Tech Miami, and Syracuse and once against Pittsburgh. With her two assists, she also led the Tar Heels in points on the year with 20.
Six other players from the ACC were named to All-America teams: defender Cassie Miller of Florida State, defender Christina Gibbons of Duke and mid-fielder Alexis Shaffer of Virginia made the first team; defender Kirsten Crowley of Florida State made the second team; defender Natalia Kuikka of Florida State and Catrina Atanda of Clemson were also named to the third team.
Senior Hanna Gardner was named to the 2016 All-Tournament team. She played the final game of her five-year career at Carolina in the national semifinals against West Virginia.
