Sixteen Tar Heels Recognized For Earning 4.0 GPAs In Fall

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Sixteen UNC student-athletes finished the 2015 fall semester with perfect 4.0 grade point averages, earning A's in each class. The group is spread among eight different teams and a wide range of majors. All will be recognized as members of the 4.0 Club at the annual Student-Athlete Academic Luncheon at the end of the spring semester.
Those who earned the rare honor, listed with year, sport and major, are:

Josh Beals (Jr., Swimming & Diving, Business/Political Science)
Jonathan Campbell (Sr., Men's Soccer, Business)
Hayley Carter (Jr., Women's Tennis, Economics)
Luke Ciocca (So., Men's Soccer, Business/History)
Alex Comsia (Fr., Men's Soccer, Business with a minor in Spanish)
Adelaide Cooke (Fr., Rowing, Biology)
Anne Corrigan (Sr., Women's Basketball, Environmental Science with a minor in Geology)
Jamie DeCicco (Fr., Gymnastics, Biology with minors in Chemistry and Neuroscience)
Ian Dibble (Sr., Football, Business)
Kate Elliott (Jr., Rowing, Business with a minor in Coaching Education)
Abby Fisher (Jr., Swimming & Diving, Nutrition with a minor in Chemsistry)
Joey Mangili (Jr., Football, Exercise and Sport Science)
Katie McKay (Jr., Swimming & Diving, Biology/Psychology with minors in Chemistry and Neuroscience)
Sam Night (So., Field Hockey, Public Policy)
Frances Reuland (So., Women's Soccer, Spanish/Global Studies)
Overall, 141 student-athletes earned Dean's List honors and 372 earned GPAs of 3.0 or better during the 2015 fall semester. Men's fencing had the highest GPA of any team, with an average of 3.405. Gymnastics was next at 3.31 and rowing was third at 3.28.
