The Tar Heels return to the links after finishing third in the Sea Best Invitational in early February.
Last year, Carolina finished ninth with a 17-over-par 881 at the Greg Norman-crafted Caribbean course. Henry Do was the low finisher for the Tar Heels, posting a 2-under-par 214 for a share of 11th.
The 54-hole event begins Sunday with a shotgun start each morning at 8:00 a.m. ET with 18 holes each day. Live stats will be available at www.birdiefire.com.
This field is one of the strongest Carolina will face all season, with five of the nation's top 15 teams and nine of the top 32 competing in the event. The Tar Heels enter the Puerto Rico Classic ranked 10th in the Golfweek rankings and 20th by Golfstat.
