Friday's Scrimmage Ends In 7-7 Tie

Chapel Hill, NC -- The Navy squad jumped out to a 7-1 lead in the top of the sixth before Blue came storming back for a 7-7 tie in a seven-inning scrimmage on Friday afternoon at Boshamer Stadium.
Josh Ladowski's run-scoring single gave Navy a 1-0 lead in the fourth. Blue then tied the score in the fifth when a Cody Roberts single drove in Kyle Datres, setting the stage for a wild sixth inning which featured 11 total runs and took forever.
Navy scored six runs in the top of the inning. The first run came on a bases-loaded fielder's choice, then Zack Gahagan drew a walk to give Navy a 3-1 lead. Ryder Ryan then hit grand slam homer to left center to put Navy up 7-1.
Blue pulled to within 7-2 in the bottom of the inning on a bases-loaded walk. Tyler Lynn then drove in three runs with a triple down the right field line. Blue scored another run on a fielder's choice to cut the Navy lead to 7-6.
Blue then tied the score in the bottom of the seventh and final inning on a Brian Miller single.
JB Bukauskus and Zac Gallen got the starts. Brett Daniels, Logan Welch, Ryder Ryan, Spencer Trayner, Cole Aker and Hunter Williams threw in relief.
Carolina will next scrimmage on Saturday and Sunday.
