Tar Heels Earn #1 Seed in ACC Tournament

GREENSBORO, N.C. – North Carolina holds the top seed for the 2016 Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Lacrosse Championship, which gets underway Friday, April 29 at Fifth Third Bank Stadium located in Kennesaw, Georgia, right outside of Atlanta.
The Tar Heels (8-5, 3-1 ACC) will play No. 4 seed Syracuse (8-4, 2-2 ACC) in the first semifinal game at 6 p.m., live on ESPNU/WatchESPN. Syracuse topped the North Carolina, 13-7, in the teams' regular-season meeting on April 16.
No. 2 seed Notre Dame (9-2, 3-1 ACC) will meet No. 3 seed Duke (9-6, 2-2 ACC) in the second semifinal on Friday at 8 p.m., live on ESPNU/WatchESPN. The Fighting Irish edged the Blue Devils, 8-6, on April 10.
The winners of the two semifinal games will meet in the ACC Championship game on Sunday, May 1 at Noon, which will be broadcast on ESPNU/WatchESPN.
The ACC Championship again features four of the nation's top lacrosse programs as all four teams are currently ranked among the top 16 in both national polls.
Virginia (6-7, 0-4 ACC) will play No. 3 Brown (11-1) in the ACC-Brown Classic on Saturday, April 30 at 7 p.m.
