The North Carolina women's basketball team put forth a strong defensive effort during a 79-46 victory over Radford on Thursday night. Freshman Janelle Bailey notched her first career double-double with 19 points on 8-of-10 shooting and 10 rebounds, while Paris Kea added 18 points on 7-for-11 shooting. Sophomore Emily Sullivan scored all 11 of her points in the fourth quarter, and senior Jamie Cherry added 10 points and a game-high six assists and four steals.
Carolina gave up its fewest points in a game since an 82-49 win over South Carolina State last December 30. Radford, the preseason pick to win the Big South, was limited to 25.0 percent shooting and turned the ball over 22 times.
