Paris Kea scored a career-high 32 points and Jamie Cherry dished out 12 assists on top of 17 points to lead North Carolina to a thrilling 91-77 victory over Minnesota at the Junkanoo Jam last Nov. 26 in Bimini, Bahamas.
A game that featured 18 lead changes and 11 ties, North Carolina overcome a seven-point deficit in the first half and a five-point Minnesota cushion in the fourth quarter. The Tar Heels did that by scoring 34 points in the fourth to pull away late. The Golden Gophers led 58-57 with 10 minutes to play, and it was a one possession game nearly the entire quarter until a 13-0 run pushed Carolina in front for good as the lead grew to as many as 16 points in the final seconds.Â

Jamie Cherry led five double-digit scorers with 21 points to lead North Carolina to an 86-60 victory over UNCW last Wednesday. Cherry not only scored a game-high 21 points, but also handed out six assists and came up with five steals for North Carolina (3-2). Freshman Janelle Bailey, the reigning ACC Rookie of the Week, had 16 points, Jocelyn Jones had 14 points, Taylor Koenen added 12 points and Paris Kea had 10 points and handed out eight assists against zero turnovers.Â

• Paris Kea is off to a phenomenal start to her second season with the Tar Heels, leading the ACC and ranking 18th in the nation at 22.2 points per game. She is also second in the ACC and 7th nationally with 7.4 assists per game.
• Kea scored 31 points against South Alabama, one shy of her career high, and are the 2nd most points scored in a game this season in the ACC.Â
• She also handed out a career-high 11 assists against the Jaguars to notch her second career double-double.
• Kea is among five ACC players to have three 20-point performances.
• Kea has either made (44) or assisted (37) on 51.6 percent (81-of-157) of Carolina's field goals thus far this season.
