I'm A Tar Heel: Hillary Fuller
February 16, 2017 | Women's Basketball
Dear fellow Tar Heels,
I'm beyond grateful to be a part of this remarkable Tar Heel family. The love and hospitality I have felt being so far from home has been very much appreciated. My favorite part about being an athlete at the University of North Carolina is getting to know the fans and donors as well as they knew me when I first arrived. I love that they are so in tune with what's happening in our lives as we grow and mold into adults.
Growing up I never imagined I would be attending college at such a prestigious university like UNC, especially on a full-ride athletic scholarship. God blessed me with opportunity to come join such caring individuals. An environment of togetherness and love is just what I needed when moving from Florida and I found all that and more in Chapel Hill.
Coach Hatchell and her staff have given me non-stop encouragement throughout my college career. I have always been inspired by Coach Hatchell to join different groups such as SAAC (Student Athlete Advisory Committee) and let my opinion be heard. Looking back now on at my years as a Tar Heel, my most memorable experiences were our trips to Hawaii, Cancun, and the Bahamas for tournaments, not to mention the two overseas trips.
Although enduring several injuries, I'm glad I stuck around for a fifth year because I don¹t think I was quite ready for the real world and I made myself more marketable with two degrees. I'm a little more excited to get out there now!
Thanks UNC for the hospitality and great cooking!
I'm Hillary Fuller and I'm A Tar Heel!
