February 22, 2017 | Women's Gymnastics
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Khazia Hislop, a freshman from Concord, Mass., was named Rookie of the Week by the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) for the fourth time this season after Friday's win against New Hampshire.
While the team honored the works of two on campus organizations (Get Real and HEEL, Super Cooper), Hislop gave the crowd even more reason to celebrate Carolina. On the floor exercise, Hislop tied her career-high of 9.925 which earned her a tie for first place with teammate Morgan Lane. Her performance makes this the fifth straight meet Hislop has scored 9.850 or better and this is her fourth time scoring at least 9.900 this season. She also finished in fifth place on beam with a score of 9.850, just 0.025 points behind the four-way tie for first place.
Hislop and the Carolina gymnastics team will be back in action this Friday in Carmichael Arena where they will finally face William & Mary for the first time this season.
