Campbell's LaMorte Leads Heel Pack Individual

CHAPEL HILL – Nine schools came together in Chapel Hill on Saturday for the first round of the 2017 Heel Pack Individual Tournament. Thomas LaMorte of Campbell opened his tournament with a 4-under par 68, giving him a two shot lead over Christian Salzer of NC State.
The tournament is being played with individual, not team scores. NC State, Limestone College, Duke, Campbell, North Carolina, Wake Forest, and UNCG have all sent four individual golfers. Liberty and Charlotte each sent three to compete. Overall, there are 34 individuals playing.
In addition to LaMorte and Salzer, the rest of the top five is finished out by Matt Oshrine of Duke, who was the only other play under-par following his round of 71, Nolan Mills of NC State, who shot an even-par 72, and a three-way tie at 1-over par between Steve DiLisio of Duke, Kyle Sterbinsky of Wake Forest, and Peyton Shore of Limestone College.
Tomorrow, the tournament heads to North Carolina State's Lonnie Poole Golf Course for the final round of play. Tee times will occur from 11 a.m. to 12:50 p.m.
