Griffin Shoots Best Round Of Season At Aggie Invitational

Bryan, Texas – Junior Ben Griffin's second round 68, his best round of the season, on Saturday at The Aggie Invitational for Carolina to lead the Tar Heels. Carolina shot a 10-over par 298 in the morning and followed it with a 5-under par 283 in the afternoon to finish the day tied for fifth at 5-over par.
William Register shot a 73 and 70 to finish day one in 14th place at 1-under par. Griffin's 68 featured 6 birdies and followed a 6-over par 78 in the morning's first round to tie for 19th overall. Tied with Griffin is Henry Do who shot 74 and 72. Jose Montaño is tied for 31st at 5-over par and Austin Hitt is tied for 60th at 13-over par.
Number eight LSU leads at 11-under par. Number four Baylor is the only other team under-par and is one shot back at 10-under. Kyle Mueller of Michigan is leading the individual competition at 6-under par.
Carolina is one of nine teams in Golfstat's top 30 in the country competing in the tournament. The tournament is being played at the Traditions Golf Club which is a par-72, 7,146 yard course.
Tomorrow, the Tar Heels will tee off from 7:50-8:30 a.m. CDT alongside fourth place Oklahoma State and Texas who is tied with Carolina for fifth. A full recap will be posted on GoHeels.com following the round.
