
Cloutier Named National Offensive Player of Week

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - University of North Carolina junior attackman Chris Cloutier has been named the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association/BSN Sports National Offensive Player of the Week for April 24-30, 2017.
Cloutier, a native of Kitchener, Ontario, won this week's honors after being named the Most Valuable Player of the 2017 ACC Championship last weekend in Durham, N.C. Cloutier led UNC to a win over top-ranked Syracuse 16-15 in the semifinals and sixth-ranked Notre Dame 14-10 in the championship game.
Jacob Stover of Loyola University Maryland was named the USILA National Defensive Player of the Week.
DIVISION I - OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Chris Cloutier, University of North Carolina, ACC, A, Jr. – Kitchener, Ont.
Chris Cloutier with an MVP performance tallied nine points in the ACC Championship Tournament this past weekend. He scored three goals and two assists in the win over top ranked Syracuse. In the win over nationally ranked Notre Dame, Cloutier had three goals and two assists. With his five points in the ACC Championship game, he ran his career total to 102.
DIVISION I – DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jacob Stover, Loyola University Maryland, Patriot League, GK, So. – Hunt Valley, Md.
Jacob Stover helped Loyola Maryland claim its second straight Patriot League Championship. In the win over the Crusaders, he made 12 saves on 26 shots faced. Then in the win over nationally ranked Army, Stover kept the Black Knights without a goal in the second and fourth quarters, making 12 saves on 24 shots. He had a .774 save percentage.
