CHAPEL HILL - The North Carolina women's basketball team hosts an exhibition game with Carson-Newman on Thursday night inside Carmichael Arena at 6 p.m.

Admission is free and doors open to fans at 5 p.m.

Thursday marks the 10th time the Tar Heels have hosted the Lady Eagles for an exhibition game with UNC winning all nine previous matchups. Two seasons ago, Carolina won 96-70 behind then freshman Taylor Koenen's 23 points and Stephanie Watts 22 points and 11 rebounds.

This will be the only exhibition contest for the Tar Heels. Next week, Carolina opens the season on the road for the first time since 2000 at Elon next Tuesday at 7 p.m.

UNC's home opener is Friday, Nov. 9 against Kent State at 6 p.m.

ACC Network Extra will provide coverage of Thursday's exhibition game with Carson-Newman, a Division II program that is ranked No. 3 in the Division II Bulletin preseason rankings. C-N was 32-3 last season and returns All-America seniors Haris Price and Mika Wester.
