Carolina Travels to NC State, Duke

CHAPEL HILL – Staying in the Triangle after a pair of wins at home, North Carolina travels to NC State and Duke Wednesday and Saturday, respectively. The Tar Heels have won their past two matches at home with a sweep of Wake Forest and a 3-1 win over Miami. UNC ranks sixth in blocks in the ACC with 2.43 per set. Katharine Esterley and Ava Bell lead Carolina's block with 79 and 80, respectively.

Wednesday's match begins at 7 p.m. from NC State's Reynolds Coliseum. Fans can purchase tickets online at gopack.com. The Tar Heels face Duke for the second time in two weeks Saturday at 2 p.m. at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Both matches are available live on the ACC Network Extra.

About the Tar Heels (7-17, 3-12 ACC)

The Tar Heels are coming off back-to-back wins at home vs. Wake Forest and Miami, snapping a 10-match skid. UNC most recently topped Miami, 3-1 as Skylar Wine recorded her third double-double.
Head coach Joe Sagula is two wins away from 600 at the helm of the Tar Heels.
Destiny Cox leads UNC with 263 kills, followed by Skylar Wine (203) and Ava Bell (185). With nine blocks against Wake Forest, Katharine Esterley totals 79 blocks in addition to Bell's 80. Hunter Atherton runs the offense, dishing out 9.43 assists per set to rank sixth in the ACC. Mia Fradenburg totals 316 digs.

About the Wolfpack (13-12, 7-8 ACC)
Coming off three straight wins, NC State hosts its final three matches to conclude 2018. The Wolfpack topped Duke and Wake Forest in five sets at home with a 3-1 win at Notre Dame. Teni Sopitan and Melissa Evans lead State with over 300 kills each. Sopitan's 1007 attack attempts ranks second in the ACC.

Miami travels to North Carolina with two consecutive losses to begin the November road trip. The Hurricanes fell in four sets to Louisville before being swept by Notre Dame in the Purcell Pavilion.
Ranks second in the ACC in digs/set with 15.21, led by Makenzie Kuchmaner's 4.61 D/S.

About the Blue Devils (14-10, 8-7 ACC)
After three matches on the road, Duke returns home to host its final three regular season matches, beginning with Tobacco Road rival, North Carolina. The Blue Devils went 1-2 with the lone win at Carolina, just 15 days before facing off at Cameron Indoor. Duke balances its attack between three all with 200+ kills.

Duke's win against UNC two weeks ago capped off a five-match winning streak as the Blue Devils have lost their past two meetings against NC State and No. 10 Pitt. Duke wraps up its 2018 regular season at home vs. Notre Dame and Miami.
Graduate-transfer Andie Shelton leads the conference with four triple-doubles this season.
