Carolina Head Coach Andrew DiBitetto:
"From day one we have talked about being a team that will always fight and will always be resilient. Coach Clark and I were proud of our guys for the way they fought this week, especially today. We had some rollercoaster rounds, but we have tough-minded guys and they just kept going. Austin Hitt was amazing today. He faced adversity multiple times and overcame it every time.
We aren't too focused on the second-place finish. Second place means someone else went home with the trophy. Right now we know we have some areas where we can improve and that's our point of emphasis moving forward. We've already expressed that to our guys and we're excited to get back to work in Chapel Hill.
We are thrilled for Ryan, as he finished in the top 10 in his first career start. He's played well lately, which is great for him and great for our team. We have some really healthy competition within our team. Ryan's play of late has made this competition even stronger and more intense.
Traveling an entire team in college golf pretty much never happens. The fact that we were able to travel everyone to a tournament in Hawai'i is incredible. Many people made this happen and we owe all of them a huge thank you. We made memories this week that will stay with our guys for the rest of their lives."
