Tar Heels Conclude Road Trip at UNCW, Host UNCG

CHAPEL HILL – Following a third series win at Virginia, North Carolina wraps up its 10-game road trip at UNCW Tuesday, before hosting UNCG Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Anderson Stadium. The Tar Heels are 7-2 since beginning their trip on March 20.

Fans unable to make it to Wilmington can watch Wednesday's game vs. the Seahawks on UNCW's in house stream. The Seahawks (10-19) continue their eight-game home stand, facing the Tar Heels from a rescheduled match on March 14. UNCW took the series opener from James Madison, 6-4, but dropped the last two. Kelsey Bryan and Emily Langkamp lead the team with average over .300. Laurel Koontz has a team-best 1.44 ERA. Carolina leads the series, 49-4-1, winning the past 17 consecutive matchups.

Leah Murray and Kiani Ramsey follow closely behind with .357 and .351 averages, respectively. With a 17-5 record, Brittany Pickett has been dominant in the circle, tossing 187.1 of Carolina's 245.1 innings pitched and picking up seven wins since the team's road trip began on March 20. Most recently, Carolina took the series at Virginia, winning the first two games of the weekend. The Tar Heels amassed 33 hits between three games for a .379 average, scoring 24 runs with seven extra-base hits and nine stolen bases. Megan Dray shined in her home state, going 5-for-7 with five RBI. Wike and Ramsey also batted over .500 throughout the weekend.
