Tar Heels Host Longwood Tuesday, Travel to JMU Wednesday

CHAPEL HILL – Coming off a weekend sweep of Virginia Tech, the Tar Heels host Longwood Tuesday before traveling to JMU Wednesday. North Carolina (22-19, 11-4 ACC) has ACC series wins over Duke, Notre Dame, Virginia and Virginia Tech to lead the Coastal division.
Tuesday's game versus Longwood is slated for 6 p.m. Fans can watch the game on the ACC Network Extra. Wednesday's game at JMU will begin at 5 p.m. with a video broadcast available on jmusports.com. Live stats for both games are available on UNClivestats.com.

Carolina sits atop the ACC Coastal division with series wins over Notre Dame and Virginia, and sweeps over Duke and Virginia Tech. Despite two nonconference losses to begin the week, the Tar Heels bounced back to sweep Virginia Tech for their fifth series win of the season. Setting a new season-best nine-game hitting streak, Kiani Ramsey leads the team with a .383 average for the season while batting .615 during week nine with her first home run of the year against Virginia Tech. Winning each of their Big South series to date this spring, Longwood embarks on a five-game road trip, beginning in Chapel Hill. Kaylynn Batten leads the Lancers' offense with a .370 average. Sydney Gay has tossed 131.1 innings in the circle for a team-best 16-8 record. Carolina leads the series, 12-1 with the long Longwood victory occurring at the NCAA Regional in 2016 in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
About James Madison
Winning seven of their past eight games, the Dukes remain home to host North Carolina for a midweek matchup before resuming CAA play at College of Charleston. James Madison is led by Kate Gordon, Odicci Alexander and Morgan Tolle who are all batting over .400 for a team average of .315. JMU leads the series, 7-6 winning the past seven meetings against the Tar Heels.
