Four Tar Heels Lead ILWomen All-Rookie Team

The Tar Heels' four All-Rookie Team members led the nation and helped lead Carolina to a third consecutive Atlantic Coast Conference championship and a seventh NCAA Tournament final four berth in the last 10 years.
Here's what ILWomen had to say about the four Tar Heels on its All-Rookie Team:
Taylor Moreno, North Carolina, Goalie (R-Fr.)
Moreno went from battling for time on the field to being the ACC Tournament Most Valuable Player, being in goal for UNC's run to Championship Weekend. In 16 games played, she had a 7-2 record with a 10.01 goals allowed average and 54.1% save rate.
Jamie Ortega, North Carolina, Attack
The ACC Freshman of the Year finished tied 11th in all of Division I with 70 goals, shooting 57.4% on chances. She had multiple goals in 18 games, including a combined 12 goals in three games in the NCAA Tournament as UNC reached the semifinals.Emma Trenchard, North Carolina, Defense
Starting all 21 games on a relatively young UNC defense, Trenchard, a member of the ACC All-Tournament Team, picked up 24 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers. She had three ground balls each in a pair of UNC's ACC Tournament victories en route to the league title.
Kayla Wood, North Carolina, Defense
Wood served as a defensive midfielder for UNC with 20 starts, finishing with 12 ground balls and seven caused turnovers. She had to deal with some of the top opposing offensive players on UNC's defense.
