Tar Heels Heading To The Bahamas
August 15, 2018 | Men's Basketball
CHAPEL HILL—North Carolina's men's basketball team is heading to The Bahamas on Wednesday afternoon for a pair of preseason exhibition games.
GoHeels Productions will provide extensive and behind-the-scenes coverage of the trip on GoHeels.com, @UNC_Basketball and the team's Instagram account.
The team has practiced in Chapel Hill during the summer, but the Bahamas trip will provide the first opportunity for the team to face outside competition.
Head coach Roy Williams and his staff are working to replace the production and leadership of graduated starters Joel Berry II and Theo Pinson in 2018-19, while also integrating freshmen Rechon "Leaky" Black, Nassir Little and Coby White and newly-eligible sophomore transfer K.J. Smith into a group of three returning starters and 11 returning lettermen.
The Tar Heels are scheduled to practice in The Bahamas on Thursday, play games on Friday and Saturday and return to Chapel Hill on Monday. Â
Carolina will play the Bahamas All-Stars on Friday afternoon and the New Providence Basketball Association All-Stars on Saturday. Â Tar Heel players will have Sunday to enjoy the sun and fun in The Bahamas before returning to Chapel Hill on Monday morning.
University of North Carolina fall semester classes begin on Tuesday August 21.
