GoHeels Exclusive: Field Hockey Opens New Stadium, Olympic Sports Notes

CHAPEL HILL—The Carolina field hockey team opened its new home stadium on Friday with a win over fifth-ranked Michigan, then beat Iowa in overtime on Sunday. The women's soccer team hosted a pair of ranked opponents and emerged with a win over UCF and a tie against Texas.
The men's soccer team allowed just one goal in a strong defensive weekend for Carlos Somoano's squad. Volleyball freshman Destiny Cox shined in a pair of games over the weekend at the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.
