GAME PREVIEW
• Carolina concludes its 2019 regular-season campaign Saturday when the Tar Heels visit long-time Triangle rival NC State at 7 p.m.
• UNC is 5-6 on the year after a 56-7 win over Mercer on Saturday. Junior Michael Carter scored three of Carolina's five rushing touchdowns, while Sam Howell tossed three TDs of his own to give him 32 for the season.
• NCSU is 4-7 on the year and 1-6 in ACC play after a 28-26 loss at Georgia Tech last Thursday in Atlanta.

TAR HEELS AND WOLFPACK
• North Carolina leads the series with NC State, 66-36-6.
• This has been a back-and-forth rivalry in recent seasons, with the road team capturing five of the last six meetings.
• The Carolina-NC State series is the fourth most-played in ACC history. Carolina is part of four of the five most-played series in ACC history.
• Saturday will mark the fifth straight year in which the UNC-NC State game is played on the final weekend of the regular season.

BROWN VS. NC STATE
• Mack Brown is 5-7 against NC State. As head coach at App State in 1983, he lost 33-7 to the Pack. Brown later lost his first five meetings with NCSU as head coach at UNC, before winning the next five in the series before leaving
for Texas after the 1997 season.
• Brown's 1999 Longhorns team lost the season opener to NC State, 23-20, in Austin.

HISTORY MAKING
• Sam Howell has set the FBS true freshman quarterback record with 32 passing touchdowns. He also owns the UNC school record, surpassing the single-season record of 30 set by Mitch Trubisky in 2016.
