Tucci & Matthews honored by league.

North Carolina senior attackman Andy Matthews and his teammate, freshman midfielder Zachary Tucci, have earned Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week honors.

Matthews notched a career high five assists and matched his career high for points in a game with five as No. 14 UNC defeated Furman 14-10 to earn offensive player of the week honors. He also had two ground balls and caused one caused turnover. He broke his previous career high for assists in a game set in 2017 against Lehigh, and matched his career high for points in a game with five, which he had done twice previously. He improved his career totals to 82 points and 59 assists with the 20th multi-assist game of his career.

Freshman Zachary Tucci won 21 of 27 face-offs against the Paladins to capture the league's weekly defensive award. The 21 face-off wins are the sixth most in a single game in UNC history and just two short of the school record of 23. He also had a game-high 10 ground balls in the match.
