UNC Welcomes Back Alumni Sunday Vs. Virginia

CHAPEL HILL - Carolina begins a three-game home stretch by hosting Virginia on Sunday. The Tar Heels are 15-11 overall, 6-6 in the ACC, after their 91-78 loss at Pitt on Thursday. Virginia is 10-14, 4-7 in conference play. The Cavaliers have been idle since a 53-47 win over Duke last Sunday in Charlottesville, Va.

Shayla Bennett netted a season-high 25 points to pace North Carolina (15-11, 6-6 Atlantic Coast Conference). Janelle Bailey registered her 11th double-double of the season with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Taylor Koenen had 14 points and seven boards and Stephanie Watts had 12.Â

• Approximately 70 former players, staff and coaches will be recognized at halftime.
• The 1994 NCAA Championship team will take the floor between the 3rd and 4th quarters.

• Janelle Bailey was named a top-10 finalist for the Lisa Leslie Award on Friday, given annually to the top center in women's Division I basketball.Â
