Ortega Named ACC Offensive Player Of The Week

CHAPEL HILL—North Carolina sophomore attacker Jamie Ortega has been named Atlantic Coast Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, while Syracuse's Sarah Cooper was selected as the ACC Defensive Player of the Week.
Ortega tied a UNC program record with 10 points in the Tar Heels' 21-11 win over fifth-ranked Northwestern on Saturday to open the school's new Lacrosse & Soccer Stadium. She tied her personal career highs with seven goals (on just eight shot attempts) and three assists, and her 10 points tied the school record set by Kellie Thompson in 2002.
The Tar Heels will return to action on Saturday March 9 with their ACC opener against Virginia in Chapel Hill.
