Tar Heels Head to Campbell Wednesday

CHAPEL HILL – Winners of 10 of their past 12 games, the Tar Heels hit the road for a nonconference matchup at Campbell Wednesday at 6 p.m. in Buies Creek, North Carolina. Fans unable to attend can watch on ESPN+.

North Carolina is coming off a pair of historic wins over then-ranked No. 3 Florida State on Monday night. Brittany Pickett anchors UNC in the circle with 16 wins and a 2.03 ERA. Led by Kiani Ramsey's .378 average, four Tar Heels are all batting over. 300. Recently returning to the batting order, Pickett has five home runs and three doubles in 22 at-bats for a 1.273 slugging percentage.

Recently for Carolina (26-14)
The Tar Heels bounced back from a game one loss in historic fashion on Monday night. Carolina topped No. 3 Florida State twice to earn UNC's first top-five wins in program history as well as the first series win over the Seminoles since 2011. The 2-1 outcome over Florida State marks the fifth ACC series win this season.

Carolina came back from a four-run deficit in game one and brought the game within two with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh inning. However, No. 3 Florida State closed out the game with a pair of strikeouts to earn the 8-6 win in game one of the series on Sunday's Senior Day.

The Tar Heels had a short-term memory and responded with a doubleheader sweep live on ESPNU. Thanks to a walk-off hit by Berlynne Delamora in game one and a shutout by Hannah George in the series finale, North Carolina defeated Florida State in the doubleheader for the ACC series win on Monday night at Anderson Stadium. Winning the series for the first time since 2011, the Tar Heels outlasted FSU in game one of the doubleheader for the 6-5 win in nine innings. George tossed a gem for a 1-0 shutout in game two for the series and Carolina's sixth ranked win of the season.

» Monday's victories over No. 3 Florida State marked North Carolina's highest-ranked wins since the inception of the USA TODAY/NFCA Division I Coaches Poll in 1995. The Tar Heels' previous best was their victory over then-No. 8 Georgia earlier this season.
» The victories mark Carolina's fifth and sixth ranked wins of the season. Prior to tonight's doubleheader sweep, Florida State won the past 16 games dating back to 2013.
» Brittany Pickett struck out her 500th batter in her career in the eighth inning of game one.
» Megan Dray extended her reached-base streak to 15 games. Leah Murray extended her hitting streak to 11 games.
» Carolina stole 12 bases during week 10 of the season, upping the season total to 85.

Coming off a top-10 loss to Louisiana at home Monday, Campbell hosts North Carolina before hitting the road for four games. Junior Kynadi Tipler led the Camels with a 2-for-3 outing, but No. 10 Louisiana came out on top thanks to a trio of one-run frames. Prior to Monday, Campbell split a doubleheader at Charlotte, winning the finale, 5-4 on April 11. Tipler and four teammates are all batting over .300 with sophomore Kayla Fredendall slugging a team-high, 11 home runs.
