Tar Heels Conclude Regular Season Tuesday vs. NC Central

CHAPEL HILL – Wrapping up ACC play with the second-most league wins in program history, North Carolina concludes the regular season vs. NC Central Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Anderson Stadium. The Tar Heels clinched their seventh ACC series with a 2-1 outcome at Louisville while also winning 9 of their past 11 games.
First pitch vs. the Eagles is slated for 7 p.m. Admission is free to Anderson Stadium. Fans unable to attend can watch on the ACC Network Extra or follow live stats at UNClivestats.com.
Senior Leah Murray leads off for Carolina in the order, owning a .346 average with 101 career stolen bases. Fellow senior Kiani Ramsey ranks in the top-100 nationally with 58 hits, a team-best 10 doubles.

The Tar Heels wrapped up ACC play at Louisville with a seventh conference series win, upping their win total to 17 - the second most in a season in program history. Drawing 14 walks in the series opener, Carolina blanked Louisville, 6-0 under the lights Friday, while resetting the Tar Heels' single-game walk record in the win. The Tar Heels' success continued Saturday as Brittany Pickett earned her 12th career save in the Tar Heels' 10-7 comeback win over the Cardinals, writing her name atop the UNC record book. However, UNC was unable to complete the sweep Sunday, falling 1-6.
» The Tar Heels reset the single-game walks record with 14 walks in the series opener. The previous record was 12 three times, most recently in 2009.
» With eight stolen bases throughout the weekend, Carolina upped its season total to 105. Carolina has totaled 100 or more stolen bases in each of the last four seasons.
» Tossing 2.1 innings of relief on Saturday, Brittany Pickett earned her 12th career save to set a new program record. Previously, Lisa Norris picked up 11 from 2006-09.
» Carolina's 17 ACC wins is the most in a season for the Tar Heels since 2008 (18).
» In addition to Kristina Burkhardt's four-hit day on Saturday, Abby Settlemyre was 3-for-3 at the plate and Leah Murray had two hits.

Coming off back-to-back MEAC conference sweeps, NC Central travels to Chapel Hill to wrap up the regular season before the MEAC Softball Championship in Ormond Beach, Florida. Both batting over .350, Olivia Daniel and Dalika Wallace lead the Eagles at the plate with 67 of NCCU's 164 RBIs.
