Sanford Secures 4-0 Win Over Seminoles

CHAPEL HILL - Alle Sanford won court six to clinch a 4-0 victory for No. 2 North Carolina over visiting 13th ranked Florida State on Friday afternoon inside Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center.
UNC (23-1, 11-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) continued its unbeaten run in doubles to open a 1-0 edge over the Seminoles. However, eighth ranked Jessie Aney and Alexa Graham were pinned with their first loss of the season on court one, 6-2.
The comeback saw Makenna Jones and Alle Sanford win on court two, 6-2, and later on it was Sara Daavettila and Cameron Morra clinching the doubles point on court three, 6-4.
Morra was first off in singles to increase the edge to 2-0 in favor of the ACC-leading Tar Heels. Ranked 29th nationally, Morra took down Nandini Das on court four, 6-2, 6-3.
No. 6 Graham finished up shortly after on court two, 6-4, 6-2. The five-time ACC Player of the Week improves to 9-0 in the conference and 29-3 overall in her junior campaign.
Sanford was pushed in a first-set tiebreaker, but cruised in set two clinch the Tar Heel victory, 7-6 (6), 6-1
