Halpert & Kelly honored on national academic honor squad.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - A pair of seniors on the 2019 University of North Carolina men's lacrosse team were named Thursday to the 2019 United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association/Warrior and New Balance Division I Scholar All-America Team.

Senior long-stick midfielder Jack Halpert, an economics major from Baltimore, Md., and Timmy Kelly, a senior midfielder from Lutherville, Md., who double majors in political science and communication studies, were both named to the 2019 Scholar All-America Team.

A Scholar All-America must be nominated by his coach and be a student with a senior year academic standing and a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. The honorees must have behaved in a manner that has brought credit to himself, his institution, and to college lacrosse both on and off the field. He must also be an All-America, a member of a North/South team, or an outstanding league or conference player.
