UNC Men's Lacrosse Announces 2020 Schedule Updates

CHAPEL HILL –– The University of North Carolina men's lacrosse team released its official 2020 schedule with opponents, dates and game times Friday. Television details for all games (home and away) will be announced at a later date.
The Tar Heels have seven games scheduled against teams which qualified for the 2019 NCAA Tournament, including three games against squads which were seeded in last year's national tourney — Johns Hopkins, Georgetown, Maryland, Duke (#2), Virginia (#3), Syracuse and Notre Dame (#7).
The Tar Heels will host nine games during the regular season at Dorrance Field. After back-to-back weekends of scrimmages against Jacksonville, Navy and High Point, Carolina will play host for three consecutive games — Colgate on February 1, Mercer on February 8 and Lafayette on February 15. The Tar Heels will then hit the road for the following three games, taking on Johns Hopkins on February 22, Denver on March 1 and Furman on March 6.
UNC will return to the Triangle Area for the remainder of the month, hosting Bryant on March 10, Georgetown on March 14, Dartmouth on March 17 and Maryland on March 21. Carolina will then play back-to-back Thursday games, first eight miles down Tobacco Road at Duke on March 26 and then in Dorrance Field against Virginia on April 2.
In their final road game of the regular season, the Tar Heels will face Syracuse at Cicero's Cicero-North Syracuse High School on April 11 before closing the regular season in Chapel Hill against Notre Dame on April 18.
The 2020 ACC Tournament will return to a four-team format over the course of one weekend. The highest-seeded team will host the tournament with semifinal competition on Friday, April 24 and the final on Sunday, April 26.

Colgate – UNC leads series 4-0. Carolina won their last meeting with Colgate 19-12 in the 2015 NCAA Tournament.

Lafayette – UNC leads the series 1-0. Carolina defeated Lafayette 17-10 in their first-ever meeting in 2018.

Furman – UNC leads series 6-0. Carolina bested Furman 14-10 in 2019.
Bryant – UNC leads series 2-0. Carolina won their last meeting 10-9 in 2015.
Georgetown – UNC and Georgetown will face off for the first time in program history on Sat., March 14.
Dartmouth – UNC leads series 12-3. Carolina won their 15th matchup 17-6 in 2017.
Maryland – Maryland leads series 46-25. The Tar Heels fell 9-16 in 2019.
Duke – UNC leads series 42-33. Carolina beat Duke 10-8 in 2019.
Virginia – UVA leads series 51-27. Carolina was edged out by one goal 13-14 in their 2019 ACC Semifinal game.
Syracuse – Syracuse leads series 18-9. Carolina defeated Syracuse 11-10 in the first round of the 2019 ACC Championship tournament.
Notre Dame – UNC leads series 10-9. Carolina came up short 10-12 in their last meeting in 2019.
