Carolina To Host Wake Forest Sunday

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The North Carolina women's basketball team hosts Wake Forest Sunday for the second consecutive Atlantic Coast Conference game on the Tar Heels' home court at Carmichael Arena. TIpoff is 1 p.m. and the game will air live on ACC Network Extra.
UNC (6-2, 1-2 ACC) is looking to follow Thursday's win over Syracuse with another league victory before an 11-day holiday break. It's the second matchup between the Tar Heels and Demon Deacons (4-2, 1-1) in a 10-day span – Wake won 57-54 on Dec. 10 in Winston-Salem in the ACC opener for both teams.
• The Tar Heels and Demon Deacons are meeting for the 82nd time in a series that dates back to the 1974-75 season, UNC's first as a varsity program under the umbrella of the University of North Carolina Department of Athletics. Carolina leads 64-17, but Wake has won the last three and five of the past seven.
• For the second year in a row, the team's are meeting twice in a 10-day span. The 2019-20 regular-season matchup was played on Feb. 23 in Winston-Salem then the teams played again in the first round of ACC Tournament play on March 4. Wake won both games.
• Heading into the game, four Tar Heels are averaging double-figure scoring with seven at 7.4 or more points per game. Senior center Janelle Bailey leads the team at 13.6 ppg with freshman guard Deja Kelly just behind at 13.5.
• The Tar Heels rank in the ACC's top three in rebounding (1st), scoring defense (1st), field goal percentage defense (1st), defensive rebounding (1), scoring (2nd), assist-turnover ratio (2nd), scoring margin (2nd), rebounding margin (2nd), turnover margin (3rd), offensive rebounding (3rd) and assists (3rd).
