CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – After a holiday break that dates back to an overtime win over Wake Forest on Dec. 20, the North Carolina's women's basketball team will resume play this week but with a few adjustments:
• The Dec. 31 game at Syracuse, scheduled to be UNC's first game back, has been postponed due to Covid protocols after a positive test, subsequent quarantining and contact tracing within the Orange program.
• UNC's next game will be on Sunday, Jan. 3, at Pittsburgh. That game will tip off at 1 p.m. and be televised by the Regional Sports Networks.
• After the meeting with the Panthers, the Tar Heels will travel to play a rescheduled matchup at Louisville on Jan. 5. That game was initially set for Dec. 13 but was postponed due to Covid protocols within the Louisville program. Tipoff is 2:30 p.m. at the KFC Yum! Center and the game will be broadcast live by ACC Network.
• Carolina's next home game is on Jan. 10 against Miami. That game was initially scheduled as an away game for UNC, but the Tar Heels traveled to face the Hurricanes on Dec. 14 following postponement of the Louisville game. Tipoff time for the Miami-at-UNC matchup has not yet been finalized.
• UNC's two matchups with Duke, set for Jan. 17 and Feb. 28, have been canceled after the Blue Devils elected to end their 2020-21 season.
