Tar Heels Compete at JDL DMR Invite

Winston-Salem, N.C. - The University of North Carolina track & field program wrapped up day two of the two-day JDL DMR Invitational Saturday at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C. The meet was highlighted by a 1-2 finish in the men's 400 meters by Ari Cogdell and Jadon Johnson and the fifth fastest men's DMR (distance medley relay) in school history.
Cogdell, a senior from Miami Gardens, Fla., ran a season best time of 48.78 to take the event win in the men's 400-meter dash. Cogdell was closely followed by Johnson, a junior from Lewisville, Texas, who finished second with a time of 49.23 seconds.
A team of Jesse Hunt, Brandon Cachon, Isaiah Palmer and Alex Milligan competed Friday night in the men's 4,000-meter DMR. The group finished in 9:50.06, good for fifth fastest in school history.
Other Tar Heel Competitors:
• Brandon Tubby, a senior from Hillsborough, N.J., took second in the men's invitation mile with a time of 4:06.55
• Luke Peterson, Michael Spragley, Jake McEneaney, Ryan Combs, Dalton McGlamery and Andrew Brooks all finished in the top 10 of the men's mile (2-3-4-5-8-9).
• Madeline Kraft, a junior from Winston-Salem, N.C., competed in the women's 800 meters, finishing with a time of 2:22.38.
• Marcus Krah, a senior from Durham, N.C., finished fourth in the men's 60-meter dash with a season best time of 7.04 seconds
• Lindsey Lanier, a junior from Charlotte, N.C., competed in the women's mile, finishing with a time of 5:22.78.
Up Next: The Tar Heels will travel to South Bend, Ind. Thursday-Saturday for the 2020 ACC Indoor Championships at Notre Dame.
