Carolina football was picked No. 19 in the preseason Amway Coaches Poll released on Thursday.

The Tar Heels will begin a season ranked for the first time since 2016 when UNC checked in at No. 20. Carolina spent five weeks in the top 25 that season and sat as high as No. 15 in early November.

The reconfigured 2020 schedule was released earlier today. Carolina will open at home against Syracuse on Saturday, Sept. 12 inside Kenan Stadium.
